Bridget Noonan, CPA, CA

Assurance Partner
Clearline Consulting CPA

Bridget is a Partner at Clearline Consulting and Clearline CPA, boasting over 25 years of experience in the accounting industry, specializing in accounting, assurance, training, and facilitating professional development.

Her career began at a mid-size accounting firm, where she was a lead in the audit and assurance practice for 12 years, also managing internal training and firm template development. Bridget has also contributed to the accounting and assurance education field through facilitation roles with the British Columbia Institute of Technology and the Chartered Professional Accountants professional development programs.

Transitioning from public practice, Bridget served as a professional standards advisor at CPABC, supporting practitioners with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and navigating legal and ethical issues. Her contributions extended to serving on various national task forces and committees, showcasing her dedication to advancing the profession.

Identifying a gap in the market, Bridget co-founded Clearline Consulting. For over ten years, she has been instrumental in guiding practitioners across Canada. Her work involves monitoring, consulting services, and facilitating professional development courses, significantly impacting small and mid-size firms.

Bridget’s extensive involvement with CPA Canada task forces, committees, and ongoing relationships with provincial CPA bodies highlights her commitment to enhancing the CPA profession. She continues to empower CPA firms and practitioners with essential skills in technical competencies, professional development, regulatory compliance, and practice management.

Tom Gillespie, CPA, CA

Assurance Partner
Clearline Consulting CPA

Tom is a Partner at Clearline Consulting and Clearline CPA, with a distinguished background in audit, assurance, and professional standards. Before establishing Clearline Consulting, he was the Associate Director of Practice Review/Licensing at the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia (CPABC), overseeing the practice review and licensing programs and serving as a Practice Review Officer. His role extended to offering technical advice as a Professional Standards Advisor and contributing to CPABC’s publications.

Tom continues to engage in professional development and consultancy services with the provisional CPA bodies, CPA Canada and CPA firms across Canada. With over 20+ years in audit and assurance, his career began in Ontario, gaining his accounting designation while working as an external auditor in Ottawa. His experience spans a variety of industries, including not-for-profits, and international exposure in Bermuda auditing investment funds and banking organizations.

At Clearline Consulting, Tom leverages his extensive experience to offer file monitoring, professional development, training, and consulting services. His work is pivotal in aiding CPA firms and practitioners to excel and cultivate prosperous practices.

Shane Schepens, CPA, CA

Tax Partner

Shane serves as the Tax Partner at Clearline Consulting and Clearline CPA, specializing in income tax planning, reorganizations, and succession planning for Canadian owner-managed businesses across diverse sectors.

He embarked on his accounting journey after earning his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Northern British Columbia, achieving his CA designation in 2003. Shane’s professional path began in 2000 at a prominent international accounting firm, where he honed his skills over a decade in their Prince George, Calgary, and Burnaby locations. Following this, he spent five years with a mid-sized firm in Surrey, further solidifying his expertise in tax and accounting. Shane then ventured into entrepreneurship, running his own successful accounting and tax practice in Surrey for four years.

In his role at Clearline Consulting, Shane delivers professional development sessions to firms through the Clearline’s CPD program as well as CPABC.  Shane brings his wealth of experience to support practitioners in navigating their clients’ tax compliance, planning, and corporate restructuring challenges, ensuring comprehensive and strategic tax solutions tailored to the unique needs of Canadian businesses.
