Audit Partner PD Series

As assurance partners of Clearline CPA, and in working with hundreds of small and mid-size CPA firms across Western Canada, we understand the pressure regulations such as IES(8) place on a firm’s resources.

We developed the Audit Partner PD series to help smaller and mid-size firms continue to provide full assurance services to their clients. Participating in these sessions will keep you up to date with all pending standards changes and more importantly allow you to share ideas and suggestions for how we implement these changes into our practices.

The Audit Partner PD series will address:

1. Partner Awareness of New and Pending Standards

Attending professional development sessions that focus on standards that are coming in a year or so, or ones that drill down into all the detail, is not always what a partner needs. Our September session will be a timely reminder of what new accounting and assurance standards are effective for the upcoming December year-end engagements. We will not have time to delve into all the details in our short sessions, but this will provide you with all the information you need to direct template updates and/or firm professional development in the fall.
2. Practical Application of Audit Requirements for Smaller Engagements

Our Audit Partner PD series is for audit partners in small to mid-size firms, focusing on issues that are relevant for the audit of smaller, less complex entities. We will not focus on issues that are relevant to public companies or standards that are not overly applicable to smaller entities.  We can’t get rid of all those checklists for you, but as a group we can share ideas and suggestions that have worked to created efficiencies in the execution of the audit engagements.
3. CPD Compliance

We will take all the guesswork out of planning your assurance CPD for the coming year. Where a high-level update of standards changes is sufficient, we will provide that for you in our sessions. Where more hands-on training is necessary for your staff, we are available to provide additional in-house training and material as needed.
